Adom Praiz 2011 tagged “biggest Gospel show” by organisers

If you thought Adom Praiz 2010 was big, hold on to your hats: Adom Praiz 2011 is billed to be another fantastic international gospel show, with renowned American gospel musician, Ron Kenoly, set to light up the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre on August 27, when he leads an array of local gospel musicians to the third season of the Adom FM-powered, all-night long fiesta of songs of praise and adoration.

It doesn't come bigger than this, especially on the heels of another celebrated American gospel icon, Cece Winans, who took the same stage at the Dome last year to give Ghanaians an unforgettable worship experience.

What a night Adom Praiz 2010 was! Forget that it was a mid-week; it was obvious that none of the thousands of patrons who thronged the Dome for the soul-refilling night was bothered, for when the event finally ended, it was all applause and wild cheers for a wonderful event.

The event last year attracted high-profile patrons like former President Jerry Rawlings, VRA Chief Executive Officer Kweku Andoh Awortwi and Mr. Charles Cofie of Unilever, who were all asking for more of the song ministration from a galaxy of powerful musicians, led by the charming voice and lyrics of Cece Winans, the global icon of praise songs.

For the management and staff of Adom FM, it was the fulfillment of a promise they made to Ghanaians to put up a show that would blow people's minds while letting them have a fill of God's goodness.

The Adom Praiz brand has, subsequently, earned international endorsement with that gospel concert by winning the Africa Gospel Music Awards (AGMA) for “Best Contribution to African Gospel Music” at the Lighthouse Hall in London last month.

This time round, Dr. Ron Kenoly will headline a night of praise and powerful music ministration concert at Adom Praiz 2011 with a host of local stars including Tagoe Sisters, Stella Seal, Mary Ghansah, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, and Cindy Thompson. This team of “old guards” will be supported by a “new generation” made up of Nii Okai, Philipa Baafi, Soul Winners and Cecilia Marfo.

The second coming of Ron Kenoly to Ghana (he first performed in Ghana in 1997) follows earlier concerts here over the last few years by other internationally-acclaimed gospel stars like Andrae Crouch, Don Moen, Donny McClurkin and Kirk Franklin.

As a gospel musician, Ron Kenoly is also a celebrated worship leader, singer and songwriter.
