LISA, ShoreTel bring telecom ease with MVS
Technology seems to be moving at the speed of light. Telecommunications, in particular, is skipping ahead with a new or improved mobile phone appearing on the market every few weeks. However, instead of making life easier as they claim, they are designed to be more complicated and many find its applications difficult to operate.
However, LISA Communications Ltd and its international partner ShoreTel have made advanced technology simple with the new product, LISA Managed Voice Services (MVS), which was launched at the Hyatt Regency in Port-of-Spain last Friday.
Telecommunications will continue to go in the way of data. Mobility is fast replacing fixed end points. It has to become an extension of your office and personal life, said LISA managing director Jerry Chin Lee. ShoreTel is able to do that with its Mobility Solution which makes the smartphone a fully functional end point device to your office communication system.
ShoreTels Mobility Solution is just one of the amazing capabilities of ShoreTel Unified Communications (UC) system, which is one of the MVS services. It allows you to make and receive calls from both your company and personal mobile phone numbers via Wi-Fi.
A mobility router, bought from LISA, monitors the call. As you move away from the Wi-Fi signal, the router will feel the signal weakening and make a background call to your cellphone, conferencing in the new call and automatically flipping it over for a seamless network handover so you dont miss a word.
Communication is a very important part of doing efficient business, Chin Lee explained. Todays world is much more competitive. We cannot afford to miss opportunities to deliver customer service, pacify an irate customer or to miss a potential sale.
Chin Lee recalled when LISA began its operations in October 1992 with paging.
By 1995, the company was the largest provider, receiving and transmitting over 18,000 messages per day.
It was also the first to introduce paging by name instead of number.
In March 2001, the company began offering Internet and Wide Area Network (WAN) services to business customers only. Its focus is on small-to-medium businesses, corporate enterprises and Government agencies.
